Tattersall Farm was owned and operated by the Tattersall Family for almost the entire twentieth century. The surviving family member, Mary Alice Tattersall, died in 1999 and in her will entrusted the 150 acre farm to the City of Haverhill. Operated by the Tattersall Farm Charitable Foundation Trust, preservation of the farm, protection of wildlife and conservation interests as well as informing and educating persons on matters relating to farming and conservation are constant goals. The farm is to be maintained as close as possible to the condition it was at that time. Tattersall Farm offers 19th century plantings, working hayfields, rolling meadows, open and wooded paths to be used for passive activities such as walking, jogging and cross country skiing. There are several pieces of old farming equipment scattered around as well as a playground area-areas of interest to children. Due to the need to protect the wildlife inhabiting the farm, dogs and other pets are prohibited.
