James A. Creighton #1 Traditional Cache

Brandon’s first power trail featuring all the Mayors of the City.

Caches should all prove to be a fairly quick find on what we thought was a beautiful drive.  Hopefully you learn a little along the way as well.

James A. Creighton (1905-1990)

James was commonly known as "Jimmy"  He was born on November 18, 1905 and went to the University of Manitoba where he played for the school's hockey team, the Bisons, before playing for the Melville Millionaires and for the Brandon Wheat Kings.  He then played in NHL for the Detroit Falcons in 1931.  

Jimmy was traded to New York but never played for the team.  He started playing in International Hockey League and became a professional referee and a general insurance salesman in Brandon.  He served as a cit alderman for 3 years and as Mayor of Brandon for two terms.  This cache is in honor of his first time; 1952 to 1955.  

Jimmy passed away on May 29, 1990 after battling Parkinson's disease.
