Gilbert D. Box Traditional Cache

Brandon’s first power trail featuring all the Mayors of the City.

Caches should all prove to be a fairly quick find on what we thought was a beautiful drive.  Hopefully you learn a little along the way as well.

Gilbert D. Box (1912-1981)

Gilbert spent his early years in Pierson, Manitoba.  He was in the hardware business for 28 years and managed 6 different stores.  He also spent 16 years as the business manager for the Brandon Clinic.  He served for 13 years on the Board of Police Commissioners and for 10 years on city council.  He resigned as Brandon mayor in mid-November 1978 after completing 13 months of a three-year term.  

Gilbert passed at his home in Killarney on July 13, 1981 and was buried in the Brandon Cemetery.
