Kenneth John Burgess Traditional Cache

Brandon’s first power trail featuring all the Mayors of the City.

Caches should all prove to be a fairly quick find on what we thought was a beautiful drive.  Hopefully you learn a little along the way as well.

Kenneth John Burgess (1928-2005)

Ken was born on January 5, 1928 in Minnedosa, Manitoba.  At the age of 21 he was elected to the local school and served seven years before moving to Brandon to establish a grocery business.  Ken served on the Brandon School Board for 18 years and was actively involved in Westbran, Core Enterprises, and Brandon Children's Aid.  He ran unsuccessfully for the provincial Conservatives in 1973 and became the Mayor of Brnadon in 1979.  

Ken passed in Brandon on September 10, 2005.  He was buried in the Minnedosa Cemetery.
