This area is typical South Wales upland habitat, home to many different forms of wildlife including ground-nesting birds, moorland and marsh plants, rabbits and hares, and even the occasional red kite if you're lucky.
The cache is a little way off the path, but not too far. The location is visible from the path.
Although there is a rough road nearby, it has now been closed to motor vehicles and is occasionally patrolled by police 4x4s, so don't bring your car up here. Instead, please park at the car park (see waypoints) near the top of the hill and walk or cycle the rest of the way. The area is popular with mountain bikers, with many hidden trails to explore in the nearby woods.
While you're in the area, why not take a walk further along the ridge? There are great views of Caerphilly from up here (can you see the castle?), and on a clear day you can see the Brecon Beacons on the northern horizon, and England to the South-East.
This cache has room for small swappables or trackables.
