June is Great Outdoors Month. Every geocacher has experienced the magic of the great outdoors. That magic — whether it’s diving into a cold alpine lake at the end of an arduous hike or watching the sun disappear over the horizon from a hidden beach — is the reason we’re teaming up with the American Recreation Coalition for National Get Outdoors Month this June. And you’re invited to join us! You can read more about it on the Geocaching Blog
It's getting hot in Ridgecrest already so many cachers are heading out later and later in the evening when it's cooling off. Which means night caching time! Whether it's just finding regular caches in the dark or caches specifically designed for night caching this event is to celebrate them all!
We will meet at our usual pavilion at Petroglyph Park and talk about all things involved in Night Caching. If you're new, we'll teach you what you need to do. We will even have a few examples hidden around to show you. There may even be a few caches published for the event.
OPTIONAL: Bring your regular old containers and UV Paints and/or pens, reflectors, glow in the dark paints, pens and/or duct tape, Glow cubes and trail tacks to create your own geocache for night caching. Perfect event for newbies and pros alike!
