At first glance, Dutch Belted and Belted Galloway cattle look much alike. However, if you saw a specimen from each breed standing beside each other, you'd spot obvious differences despite their similar coat patterns. The Dutch Belted is a dairy breed of medium size, somewhere between the Holstein and Jersey. Because of the lower butterfat content, Dutch Belted milk is usually used at the table. Besides cattle, the belted look has been bred into rabbits, goats, poultry, pigs and cavies as well
The idea of this series is a community project honoring the Bos among us.
