From this part of Lyall Bay there are good views of the airport and aquatic activities: windsurfers, kite surfers and sometimes, a pod of dolphins! Cook Strait ferries pass by regularly travelling to and fro from Picton. During the summer, cruise ships visit Wellington, and these make spectacular sights as well. As of summer 2020/21 of course, cruise ships have taken a holiday due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They returned for the 2022/23 summer season.
The original bison cache was taken out by a storm, as was its replacement. This was followed by a fly-themed cache, which also succumbed to the weather, I suspect.
The current cache is about adult head-high - shorter cachers might need to stand on tip toes and reach up.
