PARKING: It's hard to find. Seek mailbox 6168, driveway is just south of this mailbox and on the same side. You can pull in, I don't recommend going in more than a car length or two. In the winter it's easy to see the huge pine in the center of the cemetery.
*Poison ivy is sneaky at this cemetery, it likes to hide among the lily of the valley and is more of a ground cover than a vine here. Pickers are plentiful. Long pants recommended year round.
CACHE: Small, log book only. Please keep double bagged and cover as found. Environment is camouflaging cache.
CEMETERY: This small family cemetery was located on the former farm of Rufus T. Sanborn. Not every person buried here is related to the Sanborns. A couple of them were known to be in the employ of the Sanborn family. A few were just neighbors. There are at least 26 burials, possibly more, at least 19 are Sanborns. Not all of them are marked anymore.
SANBORN SCHOOL: This school was located on the north side of Pratt Road, just east of Washburn. It was known for a short time as the Pierson School. It operated from 1860 until 1926. The structure was moved to Coolidge Road in Genesee County as an addition to a residence, this exact location is unknown.
