I would recommend wearing long trousers to protect against the evil stinging nettles, and maybe pack some gloves in case they get higher than they are now.
The walk is dog friendly (apart from the last stile) but they will need to be on a lead where animals are present in the fields. There is one part that is on a quiet road.
Look out for horses, pigs, sheep, and alpacas. If you are really lucky, you might see an owl too as I did when walking the route in the evening.
The footpath to the first cache starts near the phone box and follows down through a metal gate.
