We would love to meet geo-cachers in Alaska. On Sunday 6/26/16 at 4:30 pm, please join us by the Habitat sculpture at the Anchorage Museum. There is a summer-only cache located near by called Lizards Snakes and Turtles, Oh My! GC56B5G
As you may have noticed by the event title we have never been to Alaska before. It would be great if people could tell us cool places to go and caches to see in their will attend log. If you can't attend but still want to share a great cache in the Anchorage/Talkeetna area to visit please post a note. We will be wandering around in Anchorage and Talkeetna for a week and don't really have a plan and are looking for must-see spots, before we hop on a cruise ship in Sitka, so we decided having an event would be fun. We would really like to meet people so please stop by. Also if you are also vacationing in the area, please stop so we can meet you. please feel free to trade TB's. we can also take some back to Massachusetts with us if you want.
4:30 Meet at the Habitat sculpture at the Anchorage Museum and socialize
5:00 Group photo, then socialize some more and tell us where we have to go, even if it isn't cache related but is a hidden gem in the area
5:15 Travel bug race (see ****) kick off and travel bug race group photo
5:30 End of event but feel free to stick around and socialize
****Also at this event we will be kicking off a Travel bug race it will be called the Great American Travel Bug Race. It will start at this event GC6JM3Y by checking in and recording the code on a sheet and end in the Medford Travel Bug Hotel in Medford Massachusetts GC68Q42 if anybody would like to enter please sign up with your will attend.
Rules of the race
- 1. The trackable needs to have absolutely 0 miles
- 2. It needs to have a tag on it saying the following: this is a travel bug entered in a race from Anchorage Alaska to Medford Massachusetts. Please don't keep this, move it to a new cache, this is a travel bug.
Also if the travel bug gets lost you can restart the race anywhere in Alaska with a replacement trackable. If your trackable does make it to Medford Travel Bug Hotel message me and I will pick it up.
