The Coburn Community Centre has quite the extensive history and I have many fond memories of this place growing up. There were Christmas parties (complete with Santa), bingo nights, weddings, family reunions, and bridal showers. Before it was a community center, it served as a school which was founded in 1902, and named after Arthur Coburn who owned the Coburn Ranch nearby. The first teacher at the Coburn School was Mrs. Paisley, the wife of a local veterinarian and farmer. There is also a large rock (a cairn) in the southeast corner of the property that roughly marks the C & E Trail, as it was surveryed in 1886.
Thanks to MangyMoose and DugaDug for helping me place this cache!
