VG - CRUZ DE ALCARIA (ALCARIA RUIVA)

Um vértice geodésico (também popularmente chamado 'talefe' em Portugal, e 'Pinoco' no Norte de Portugal, ou ainda 'bolembreano', nome dado em Portugal às construções de forma tronco-cónica da rede de 2.ª e 3.ª ordem) é um sinal que indica uma posição cartográfica exata e que forma parte de uma rede de triangulação com outros vértices geodésicos. São habitualmente escolhidos sítios altos e isolados com linha de visão desimpedida para outros vértices.

Este ponto fica na Freguesia de Alcaria Ruiva, Concelho de Mértola.
