Geocache Description:

I have friends who live fairly close that I visit every couple of weeks.I went to get a previous cache in the area but what I found stopped me from going to look for the cache.

I started towards the trailhaed, looked down and saw the family of cougar tracks. surprise When I saw them, the first thing I did was look around. Yah...like I'd see them...lol. blush The cache was only 142m from this spot, but there is no way I was going in there by myself that day. I just took a couple of pictures, went back to my close by cachemobile and went to my friends for a visit. I told them about what happened when I got there and they reminded me that on the news that week, there had been a story about a family of cougars teaching their young how to hunt lambs on a near by farm. I remember seeing that on the news myself. Yikes.

In the picture of the trailhead, you can see the prints in the foreground. I had to take the next picture with my foot in it to give perspective of the size of the tracks. I have to say, normally not much scares me at all, BUT this day, it scared me. I didn't 'need' a cache for that day, so I didn't go for it then. I did grab the cache a couple of weeks ago but was a soggy mess, so I requested maintenance but the cache was archived. So...this gave me the opportunity to place one in the area myself. wink

I placed it close to the trailhead so it should be easy to find. You'll find it to the right of the trail as you walk in, behind and under the log. Conveniently, there was orange flagging on a piece of wood about 1m from the cache. I covered it with bark. Speaking of bark. When I was there, the dog in the neighbouring property was not thrilled that I was there and was barking the whole time. The gps was bouncing a lot, so I took 5 sets of coords on both my gps and my phone. Not 1 was the same, so I took an average. The hint should make it easy though. Happy caching. laugh Please be careful when you find this one, remember the name of this cache and why it was named.

I forgot to grab a couple of scratch and wins on the way for the 1st and 2nd finders, so I put a twoonie for the FTF and loonie for the 2TF.
