A matchstick container hidden along the Esker Trail

Jacob's Pond Conservation is a 189-acre property surrounding Jacob's pond. The pond itself is about 60 acres in size and man-made. The Sands and gravel soils around Jacob's Pond result from the deposits left by the glaciers. the linear ridge on the northern shore, leading to the Cliff Prentiss Bridge, is an esker formed from the deposits of a stream flowing through glacial ice. In the spring and early summer months, the trail is dotted with numerous Pink Lady Slippers.
