Another in the Disappearing RR Blues Cache Series highlighting the former rail history of NW Oregon.
This cache also qualifies for the Disappearing RR Blues bonus cache.
I already have 2 other hides in Eugene showing exposed streetcar rail. My first hide in Eugene, http://coord.info/GC1F305, shows the original rail exposed in the middle of a residential street that has never been paved over. The rails just simply disappear into a telephone pole. The second hide is downtown on Willamette Street where they took rail out during a street project and made it part of a pedestrian island as a piece of art history.
This is the third cache, similar to the one downtown. This is part of a safety triangle directing traffic, they embedded the former streetcar rail into the small safety island. Due to the amount of traffic, I would not recommend finding this one with the kiddos.
