Anne Bonny The Story Lives On
A brief look into the life and times of Pirate History, Anne is the first to come to mind when discussions of women pirates come to the deck for talks. Anne was an established pirate and created a wealth of her own so Sit back for thar be a story to be told. Arrrgghhhhh

Anne was thought to have been born in Ireland around 1700, and left the country as a young girl with her parents who decided to start their life over in america. The family sailed the ocean and settled down on a small plantation near a famous city which is said to be Modern day Charleston SC. As Anne grew into a young lady and met a young sailor and pirate by the name of James Bonny, craving adventure Anne went against her fathers wishes and married James Bonny and so started the pirate life for her, and they left together for Nassau, a busy port and pirate haven at the time. Not long after their marriage, James decided the pirate life was not for him, and Anne became bored and still needed that adventure and lifestyle. Anne began going to the pirate taverns and decided to run off with Jack Rackham, better known as Captain Calico Jack. Dressed as a man since Women were not allowed to board pirate ships, she stood and fought by her man's side. Shortly after pildging and pirating there way around they both kept her secret on the ship and began building a building a huge fortune. One day Anne spotted a prisoner/sailor aboard the ship whom she thought was very handsome and she declared her love to him one night, only to discover it was another woman dressed as a man, who introduced herself as Mary Read. Jack spotted the two together and threatened to cut Mary's throat, until she revealed her secret to him. It is said the three became very close and shared each other among one another all while keeping there secret from the rest of the crew. They fought side by side and rummaged the sea and once their secret came out, other pirates respected and even feared the Women duo, as Queens of the sea. One night in 1720 the king ordered for Calico Jack to be captured, Captain Jack Barnett of the royal Navy caught Jack and his crew drunk and unable to fight, except for Anne and Mary, who managed to kill a handful of men, while Calico Jack and his men either jumped over board or scurried below. Tis said that Ol' Anne screamed "Dogs! If instead of these weaklings I only had some women with me" All of the crew sept fer Anne and Mary were tried and hanged like the dogs she thought them to be. Ann and Mary were taken to prison to serve out life as they claimed to both be with child. Shortly Mary passed away from a violent fever and Anne disappeared from the official record. No one truly knows but believe that her father paid dearly to have her freed and brought her back home to a new name and to start her life over. But as fer me there still be rumors that she escaped and stole a ship and lived out her days in the Caribbean as one of the most feared pirates to ever sail, leaving a small lantern as a calling card to light the way for other women. Does that light still live on today, I guess you will just have to find out foe ye selves? ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH
