Flimby, also affectionatly known as 'Flimbe Sur La Mer' is one of the premier costal resorts of what has become known as the Cumbrian Riviera. Well served by the Cumbrian costal railway since 1846 and major bus routes, the village the village is popular as a dormitory for the larger towns of Workington, Marport and Cockermouth as well as being a popluar seaside tourist destination in its own right.
