Located along Fremont County Road 132 (Upper Beaver Creek). This old one-room schoolhouse needed a cache.
I found this information posted by mr.volkswagen on Waymarking.com:
Cramer Schoolhouse faced south to enable the four windows to catch more light. Painted red, a coat room and a closet for the water pail and wash stand. The teacher was responsible for a clean towel and taught 5 months of school.
School Started after Labor Day. They had four days vacation at Thanksgiving, were out from December 24 until January 2nd and had one-half day for a Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday.
The boys carried water, coal and wood. Girls swept, and cleared black boards to help the teacher with Janitor work. The older students helped with the younger pupils in spelling, English, reading and numbers.
Cramer School was red and burned down on November 4, 1931 and was rebuilt using cinder block.
A sign has been erected that states the school was built in 1910. It burned down and was rebuilt in 1930
If anyone has any additional information please post it and I will add it to the description.
The building and monument are on private property. Please don't cross the fence. Micro container but there is room for tiny trade items. Bring your own pen.
