The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, when the tilt of Earth's axis is most inclined towards the sun. Immediately afterwards the days start to shorten into winter...
In the northern hemisphere, the summer solstice takes place between June 20 and 22. This year it's on Monday June 20 with sunrise (here) at 04:31 hours. But that's quite early in the morning, so I’m celebrating the night before.
The only aim is to watch the sunset. No refreshments (unless you bring your own). This event will take place irrespective of the weather. The sunset will still happen even if we can't see it.
