Crystal Palace Park is a Victorian pleasure Park, used for cultural and sporting events. It is located in the south-east London suburb of Crystal Palace which was in turn named after the Crystal Palace which had been moved from Hyde Park, London after the 1851 Great Exhibition and rebuilt with some modifications and enlargements to form the centrepiece of the pleasure ground, before being destroyed by fire in 1936. There are lots of attractions here to explore. The park closes at night.
Mulberries (Morus nigra)
The mulberry has royal associations dating back to Tudor times. The mulberry tree has a spreading habit and becomes crooked and gnarled with time, making an architectural feature. It has attractive leaves and tasty fruit that are rarely found in the shops as they are best eaten straight from the tree. Silk worms feed on the leaves of mulberries.
Please be careful when replacing that it doesn't get lost in cavernous areas of bark which I think may have happened before when it got lost/swallowed up!
