I placed this cache back when I was on a hunt for a Wisconsin Geocaching Association Lonely Cache out here.
Not familiar about the Lonely Cache Game? Well it is a game within the game of geocaching organized by the Wisconsin Geocaching Association (WGA). The game and detailed rules can be found on their website at http://www.wi-geocaching.com/wga-lonely-cache-game/. Basically every two months a new list of about 500 caches is released by the WGA that are deemed "lonely", aka they haven't been found in a long time, sometimes over 2 years of being "lonely". The goal is to get those lonely caches some visitors. If you find, or don't find a cache that is on the list you submit your results on the WGA website for points and a winner is crowned at the end of the year with usually a event in the spring time focused on the Lonely Cache Game and usually can include some prizes for those that compete in the game.
I enjoy playing the game as it can bring you to some really remote locations as those are the spots that aren't frequently visited cause they can be hard to get. Another benefit is they are usually deep in the woods and thus are typically larger sized caches and not a micro at a sign post. Plus I'm caching, what else is wrong with that :)
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager.
