In 2009 the show Guerilla Gardeners shocked residents of 13 Sydney suburbs by 'guerilla gardening' in neglected or abandoned sites around Sydney. In secrecy (and illegally!) they 'beautified' urban eyesores through their gardening, causing both joy but also criticism.
The show was ultmately discontinued after it's first season, and many of the original gardens were destroyed or taken down, but what they did in Woolloomooloo has remained til this day.
