Fort Haideck - Bonus Cache

Bei den Headerkoordinaten befindet sich die Ruine des Fort Haideck.

In den Jahren 1885-1889 wurde die sogenannte Sextner Sperre errichtet, um einen möglichen italienischen Durchbruch in die damals noch österreichisch-ungarische Monarchie zu verhindern. Die Sperre bestand aus Fort Haideck, Fort Mitterberg sowie den Außenanlagen auf dem Hornischeck und dem Innergsell.

Jedoch zeigte sich bereits zu Kriegsbeginn, dass die Strukturen veraltet waren. Das Fort Haideck wurde desarmiert und die Geschütze wurden auf den Innergsell gebracht. Bestandteile der Festung wurden zudem zur Befestigung der Rotwand benutzt.

Durch Granatenbeschuss wurde die Festung schwer beschädigt, nach Kriegsende wurde sie gesprengt und die Steine wurden zum Wiederaufbau der Ortschaft Sexten/Moos verwendet.

Negli anni 1885-1889 fu costruita la cosiddetta "chiusa" di Sesto per evitare una penetrazione italiana nella monarchia austro-ungarica. Lo sbarramento era composto da forte Haideck, forte Mitterberg e le ridotte su Monte Arnese e Monte Casella di Dentro.

Già all' inizio della guerra si rivelò che le strutture erano antiquate. Il forte Haideck fu disarmato e l' artiglieria fu portata sul Monte Casella di Dentro. Parti del forte vennero usate inoltre per edificare nuove postazioni di fanteria sulla Croda Rossa.

Il forte fu bombardato e colpito fortemente; dopo la fine della guerra fu minato e i sassi si usarono per la ricostruzione del paese Sesto/Moso.

In the years 1885-1889 was built a fortification line at Sexten to prevent an italian offence to the Pusteria Valley. The defensive belt consisted of the fort Haideck, the fort Mitterberg and camps on the Mt. Hornischeck and the Mt. Innergsell.

Already at the outbreak of war appeared that the structures have been out-of-date. The fort Haideck has been disarmed and the cannon has been brought on Mt. Innergsell. Parts of the fort have been used also to build new fortifications on the Rotwand.

The fort has been bombed strongly and after the end of war has been demolished. The stones have been used for the reconstruction of the village Sexten/Moos.
