Geocache Description:

Riverboat pilot, journalist, lecturer, entrepreneur, humorist and inventor Samuel Clemens or as many know him Mark Twain was a remarkable man.

This cache begins at a rare and fun location for a photo opportunity. Ever since I discovered this bench/statue of old Sam I’ve enjoyed visiting it and bringing visitors here when they are downtown. After a little research I learned this is one of many such benches including installments in San Diego, Berkley, St Louis, Salt Lake City, Austin, Seattle and of course his hometown of Hannibal MO.

I encourage you to visit this spot, share some witty comments with your host and then grab the nearby geocache.  Also a picture or two would be great as I plan to periodically update this listing with images of visitors.

The cache is offset using information found on the bottom of his jacket. You’ll find it easiest to see from the rear of the bench nearest the road. From the bench project a point ABC feet by bearing DEF.
