Sa domu e S'orcu Traditional Cache

La tomba è stata datata al Bronzo Medio (1500-1300 a.c.) e ha la peculiarità di avere una struttura quasi completamente intatta e ben conservata. I blocchi di basalto sono finemente scolpiti e lavorati lungo tutta la struttura, formando un corpo tombale disposto lungo l'asse sud est - nord ovest, lungo 15,20 metri. L'esedra ha un'ampiezza di 18 metri. La sepoltura ha la classica forma di protome taurina (tipica del periodo preistorico sardo) chiusa a semicerchio nella parte posteriore. Nell'area antistante la tomba, zona chiamata esedra, si svolgevano presumibilmente rituali legati al culto dei morti. La camera funeraria di pianta rettangolare ha una lunghezza di circa 10 metri; sul lato sinistro è presente una nicchia utilizzata forse per le offerte funerarie e/o votive. La coperture è caratterizzata da lastre piatte di granito di grandi dimensioni poggiate alla struttura mentre il pavimento era cosparso di ciottoli di fiume nella quale veniva adagiati i defunti. All'interno si sono trovati frammenti di ceramica dell'età del Bronzo Medio e dell'Età del rame.

Come arrivare:

Si segue la S.S. 131 sino a Sardara, al Km 53 dove si svolta per Collinas. Si svolta poi per Villanovaforru e si continua verso Lunamatrona dove si imbocca il bivio per Siddi, che  si percorre per circa 1 km. Prima di entrare in paese si gira a sinistra nella circonvallazione, indicata da un cartello per la Giara di Siddi, si percorrono km 3,6, fino a trovare a destra una strada in cemento, dove si svolta. Si percorre questa strada per 2,7 km, tenendosi sempre sulla destra fino ad arrivare al parcheggio davanti alla tomba.

The tomb has been dated to the Middle Bronze Age (1500-1300 a.c.) and has the distinction of having a structure almost completely intact and well-preserved. The basalt blocks are finely carved and worked throughout the structure, forming a tombstone body arranged along the south axis east - northwest along 15.20 meters. The portico has a width of 18 meters. The burial has the classic form of taurine head (typical Sardinian prehistoric period) closed in a semicircle in the back. In front of the tomb, called the semicircular area, they presumably held rituals related to the cult of the dead. The burial chamber of rectangular plan has a length of about 10 meters; on the left side there is a niche, perhaps used for funerary offerings and / or votive. The shell is characterized by flat slabs of granite large resting the structure and the floor was strewn with pebbles from the river in which the deceased was lying. Inside they found the Age pottery fragments from the Middle Bronze Age and copper.

How to get there:

Follow the S.S. 131 to Sardara, at Km 53 where you turn for Collinas. It then turns to Villanovaforru and continue towards Lunamatrona where you take the road for Siddi, which you have to follow for about 1 km. Before entering the village turn left in the ring, indicated by a sign for the Giara of Siddi, then go on for about 3.6 km until you find on the right a cement road. Go along this road for 2.7 km, keeping always on the right until you get to the parking lot in front of the tomb.
