Window by the Pond has been a cherished spot of beauty at Bok Tower Gardens for many years. Adjacent to the pond is a new Wetland Ecosystem complete with a meandering boardwalk. This area harnesses mother nature to cycle clean water back into the pond, and grows some unique plants in the process. From here, you're close to the Pine Ridge Nature Trail, full of ancient plants many of which can be found here and nowhere else in the world. This is because we're situated atop the Lake Wales Ridge, which at 298 feet above sea level was once a chain of islands cultivating some uniquely evolved life.
Voted Florida's best garden, Bok Tower Gardens is a National Historic Landmark in Lake Wales among Central Florida's rolling hills of citrus. Open every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5 p.m. Admission is $14 for adults and $5 for ages 5-12. Members and children under 5 are admitted free.
