Geocache Description:

The Wellfleet Health and Conservation Department and Wellfleet Conservation Trust have placed a number of caches around Wellfleet to help locals and tourists alike make it out to some of Wellfleet’s many beautiful trails and recreational areas. The land that forms the Clover Trail is owned in part by the Town of Wellfleet and in part by the Wellfleet Conservation Trust.

This trail backs up to the rail bed that forms the Cape Cod Rail Trail (though the Rail Trail starts a little further down). Part of the trail is made up of an old cart path. The oak and pitch pine woods surrounding the trail are typical of the Cape Cod environment. Keep an eye out for wildlife- Eastern box turtles have been spotted on the trail. In fact, we found one when we were seeking hiding spots for the cache. Enjoy your hike!

Please stay near the trail! The cache is accessible without wandering into the underbrush where the vegetation does bite (mainly green briar and poison ivy). Also, being in New England, we advise you to check yourself for ticks after your geocaching adventure!

Parking: Please park in the designated parking area (just off of the road for about 3 cars) for the Clover Trail which is off of Old County Road right around the intersection with Cottontail Road.
