Welcome to Octa! During the temperance movement that swept across Fayette County and the country, this little township was the only place in Fayette County where you could wet your whistle. To accommodate all those throughout the county who wished to partake of some alcoholic refreshments there were weekend excursions on the railroad that would get you to Octa and take you home again.
