The High Rockies Trail is a fabulous mountain biking trail! The trail, which forms the western-most section of the iconic Trans Canada Trail officially opened in 2017 as part of Canada's 150th birthday celebrations. Read more about the trail here: https://kananaskistrails.com/high-rockies-trail/.
Part way along the trail from the Driftwood day use area to the Sparrowhawk Tarns trailhead, is an open rocky area. It is one of a few places along this section of the trail where you can stop to get a view ot the Spray Lakes far below. This cache is within 1 metre of the designated trail, hidden under a large rock, and covered with smaller rocks. It is an orange waterproof matchstick container. This is a backcountry geocaching experience with no cell coverage so please come prepared with bear spray, lots of water and snacks, clothing layers, etc. Recommended means of getting here is mountain biking, but hiking is also an option. This is not a winter friendly cache due to avalanche risk. Be sure avalanche season is well over before venturing along this section of the trail.
