The Little Colonial Library is a free community library that was built in the summer of 2014 on a plan started by Suzanne Cole. She was later joined by Joe and Judy Cook in the effort, who offered their property as the location for the new project. The original, taller box with its slanted roof and well-fitted glass door was built first and contained both adult and children's books. It soon became too small to hold the entire collection, so another shorter box, which became a separate children's section, was built in 2015. Neighbors in Colonial Plan borrow and leave books, so there is a nice turnover.
In 2016, due to some generous money donations from within the neighborhood, new and more current books were purchased and added to the library's collection. Joe also added one of his adirondack chairs to the location, providing an inviting place to sit while selecting the desired book.
Some nice book-related tradable items have been placed in the cache container - tiny book lights, magnetic page markers, and a nice decorative bookmark. Please only take one item, and be sure to add your own book-related (or non-book-related) swag! When you are done, re-hide the cache as found, if not better. After finding the cache, feel free to peruse the library, grab a book, take a seat, and enjoy your time while there! If you happen to bring your own adult or children's book from home, feel free to add it to the appropriate section and even exchange it with one from the library.
A special thanks goes out to ClayHands who lent his artistic tools and expertise in assisting with the making of the cache container!
Congratulations to kpurnell on the FTF!
