Take a nice hike along a ditch/stream wetland improvement area in Oregon's lovely Argi-Indust-Residential region.
All kidding aside mother nature has taken back this two mile strip of land and water lending to all sorts of wildlife. This was a 2014 project in response to too much human influence getting dumped into the western basin of Lake Erie. Now runoff has time to "filter" into the land before it gets to the lake...time will tell. For now though I have been spoiled by enjoying this hike seemingly all to myself and think it is time to share with the geocaching community. All I ask in return is that you share a few nature photos you take along your hike.
Unless the city ever decides to cut some grass you will be trekking through tall grass and following deer trails. Please stay off the farm land, that is private property and the cache (and all access) is City of Oregon property.
Not a spoiler, just a courtesy, the Geocaching.com app satellite imagery has not been updated...this is a 1/2 mile one way hike from the parking spots identified. (Use the north if the ground is wet)
Option 2, and 50 bonus points to those that do, when the lake level is up you can Kayak from the North lot. Most of the time you can make it about 1/4 mile up stream anyway and this would be a fun way to collect the other shoreline caches in the area too!
FTF gets to take Mr. Eisenhower circa 1976 on the return trip. Congrats Starkacher for FTF!
