Bruce Road 5 - Valley Peek Traditional Cache

This cache is numbered 5 as it is intended to be collected on the way down the hill and park in the corresponding parking.

Bruce Road is a 13km sealed road going from State Highway 47 to the Whakapapa Ski Village.  This Bruce Road trail starts above the Whakapapa Village and takes you up to the Ski Village.  From State Highway 47 the elevation gain is 959meters.

There will be times when the road is closed, please do not attempt the caches under these conditions.

The conditions on the mountain can change very quickly and it is recommended that you take provisions on the off chance.  There are no chains for hire at this side of the mountain, and please be careful even if you have a 4WD when descending the mountain, use brakes smoothly and constantly.
