Geocache Description:

The Cache is a snap box container, enough room for small Trackables or Geocoins (depending how many swappables have been left!). Common Lane is a single lane which divides farmers fields and is used as a cut through. Strictly NO parking allowed.

Please be aware minimal use of traffic but you may have to step up on a grass verge at times depending on the size of vehicle. Make sure Geokids are safe and Geodogs are on leads during your visit.  

I really wanted to start building up interest in Chelmorton Village, which is a classic White Peak Limestone village in stunning upland scenery and is one of the highest villages not only in Derbyshire but all of England.  It has a Church (St John the Baptist) and local Country Pub (The Church Inn) so decided to set up a few more caches so you can experience the village and scenery for yourself.

Although Common Lane is quite flat, you are approximately 1,203ft above sea level.  There are lots of dry walls in this vicinity and Cattle and Sheep are rotated so I'm hoping you catch a glimpse of some of the locals grazing smiley There are a couple of Public Footpaths so if you fancy a few walks, they're readily available.

There are 3 Caches to be found on Common Lane, all straight forward easy finds and I did this so it gives people of interest more finds besides the ones already placed (ok....it dangles a carrot for the numbers game!wink).  I love this Lane because of the the views you can capture, particularly at cache sites #2 and #3, rolling hills and full view of The Low which you will see ENGLAND and a St Georges Flag built in stone and painted into the hillside.
