Geocache Description:

Some would have described the 2016 election cycle as being "for the birds." You might say the same about this cache. This cache is great for teaching children the joy of bird watching, wildflower admiring and the joy of geocaching.

In the year 2016 when this cache was created a fierce political battle for the White House was underway between millionaire businessman Donald Trump, former first lady and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, and self described Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders. A popular expression for Sanders supporters was "Feel the Burn." The phrase was so popular it was printed on signs, t-shirt and baseball caps. This cache is located in Beirne Park. The park is named after former Creve Coeur Mayor John T. Beirne. Current residents of Creve Coeur pronounce it "Bernie" Park, but Mayor Beirne's name was actually pronounced "Burn." Beirne Park, located in Creve Coeur, is a lovely park with a 1/2 mile paved walking path. After a nice walk around the park take a load off your feet by having a seat at the park bench furthest from the parking lot. Admire the flowers, take in the smells, the sounds of this lovely distant side to the park. While relaxing on the bench, study the wildflowers and bird activity.
