An easy cache placed in Millfields Wood. Thanks to The Woodland Trust for giving permission.
You can access the wood from several directions. There is a designated parking area off Millfield Lane to the south of the wood.
Millfields Wood was made part of the redevelopment of the 36 acre Claypenny Hospital site in 1995. The Health Authority closed the hospital and after negotiations agreement was reached about housing, the recreation area and the wood. In 1999 the Woodland Trust planted the 4 hectare wood with 8,500 trees and shrubs.
