Geocache Description:

A simple tool at the cache will help you extract the container. As you walk to the posted coordinates, you will see the art installation in the grass beside the beach. The easiest way to get here is to head towards Halls Harbour. See text below for details.

This cache will be archived sometime around October 11, as the UCA 2016 season is ending soon.

Congratulations to Stick People for FTF!

After reading Cuttlebugs' epic adventure, I thought I'd add a comment on how to get here without going offroad. To get here, either take 359 and go thru Halls Harbour, or take West Halls Harbour Rd. Either way, turn onto Simpson Rd and follow that to Huntington point rd.

This is part of a series of 16 geocaches placed near outdoor art installations. The geocaches will only be available until mid-October. There will also be a bonus geocache for those who find all 16 in the series (look for a number between 1 and 99 on the logbook or container). For other geocaches in the series, see the bookmark list UCA 2016.

Stop 12: "A Moment In Time" by Colleen Gerrits

Artist's description of the installation:

Picture 3 birds frozen, a moment in time at the shore; collecting, navigating, exploring, nesting, building, feeding, interacting...

As you approach you realize the birds themselves are created and put together with bits and pieces washed ashore. Parts from the past integrate into the present. Resourceful, vulnerable to the elements yet enduring life at sea.

We all take and give what we have available . Our very being consists of piecing together these moments past and present...uniquely weaving it together and forming who we are in our own “moment in time”
