CONGRATS TO CARNI AND TIGGRRR FOR FTF!!!

We usually find a creature to track while wandering the various forests we visit. This spring we had the good fortune of having 3 encounters with this interesting and reclusive creature and it has captured our attention.

Tracking in late spring through summer is difficult due to the vegetation so we focus our efforts on locating den sites rather than trying to follow the various feeding routes. After a little research, I discovered that one of our favorite places to wander is also a perfect habitat for this creature.

We set out to try and discover this animal and after 4 hours of roaming the surrounding forests our efforts were rewarded by discovering 2 winter den sites.

This simple 2 stage multi will introduce you to these dens and provide you with some insight into how they live. In summer and fall, look in the nearby trees and you may catch a glimpse of one of these nocturnal creatures sleeping.

While passive by nature, they are quite capable of defending themselves so please consider that we are guests in their habitat while you visit the den sites. Me and Apollo never disturb or interfere with the animals we track, our goal is simply to understand them better.

These creatures leave distinctive markings at their den entrance.

A green container has been left in the final that reveals the creatures identity.

Note- Approx. 30m NE of the final is a rocky outcrop that holds an active den. Please give this area a wide berth in order to not disturb them.
