The blue trail is a 2 ½ hour hike through indigenous forests with pools for swimming.
The trail will cost you R20pp if you are not staying at the Drakensberg Sun, but it is well worth it for some amazing trails.
From the Drakensberg Sun, remember to sign out, pick up the blue trail on the left hand side of the dam. A lovely walk, which kids can do as well.
After the Grotto, you will also get to visit the grave of Dick Barry, a pioneering climber, who died on Monks Cowl in 1938. You can swim at the blue grotto (at your own risk) and it is well worth the walk to this amazing pool. There is a pencil in the cache but take your own pen just incase. The D/T rating is geared towards the hike and the fact that the GPS co-ords can bounce around a bit. If you use the hint it will be much simpler.
