HISTORY: First of all, would like to point out an oddity. This is the Clark School on the corner of Newark and Baldwin. The Newark School was on the corner of Newark and Clark. I get their names mixed up a lot due to this, even though the Clark Cemetery is just north of here. The school was named for the Clark Family of Lapeer Township, their family was a large one and they were involved in many community events and politics. It was established prior to 1863. The 1958-59 directory lists the school as vacant. It became a home before too long and renovated in the 1990's. It burned about 10 years later and replaced with the ranch style house there today. The renovation made the newspaper. See photos.
