Cruwee Cove is a fantastic Sydney photography location for any photographer looking for a great spot for sunset as well as a bit of an adventure. Not only does this location contain many beautiful grounds and rock formations but it is also home to Cape Banks Battery and a very old and rusted shipwreck!
The shipwreck at Cruwee Cove is the remains of the SS Minmi, a collier that ferried coal between Newcastle and Melbourne. On May 8 1937, the SS Minmi crashed into the Cape Banks Headlands due to heavy seas and fog. Unfortunately two men lost their lives in the crash, a Mr Burnside and Mr Boulton.
