Parkmöglichkeiten am besten direkt oberhalb der Jausenstation Oberthalerhof beim öffentlichen Parkplatz. SILVERSTAR verteilt sich auf 7 Stationen plus dem Ziel und besticht durch die wunderschöne Landschaft im schönsten Dorf Österreichs sowie die wertvollen Fundstücke, welche die Geschichte von damals erzählen.
Um zu den Final-Koordinaten zu kommen und dort den Code für die Schatzkiste eingeben zu können, müssen 7 Stationen gefunden und somit auch 7 Fragen beantwortet werden.
Zur Geschichte vom verlorenen Silverstar: "Was ist ein Silverstar?", werdet ihr fragen. Es ist eine Tapferkeitsmedaille. Paul ist einmal in seinem Leben mit einem solchen Silverstar ausgezeichnet worden und war darauf mächtig stolz. .
Am Ende des zweiten Weltkrieges flog Paul mit neun Kameraden mit einer Militärmaschine über Tirol. Das Flugzeug stürzte über Alpbach ab. Zum Glück wurde niemand verletzt und alle konnten sich mit Hilfe eines Fallschirms retten. Jeder von ihnen landete an einer anderen Stelle.
Paul dachte bei sich: "Ich befinde mich hier in einem fremdem Land. Ob die Leute freundlich zu mir sein werden?" Er konnte es ja nicht wissen und um nicht sofort als Amerikaner erkannt zu werden, versteckte er seine Uniform und seinen Silverstar an einem geheimen Ort. Für sich selber zeichnete er einen Lageplan, denn er wollte ja später die Sachen wieder finden und abholen. Leider kam es nie dazu. Helft ihm seinen Wunsch zu erfüllen und setzt alles daran seinen Silverstar wiederzufinden.
Station 1: Der geheimnisvolle Stein: Schau genau und halte Ausschau nach dem großen Stein auf der linken Seite. Wurde hier etwa eine Zahl eingeritzt? A = ?
Station 2: Jetzt wird geschossen: Hier scheinen die Herren von damals wichtige Utensilien verloren zu haben. Finde die kleinen Gegenstände und notiere den Hinweis auf der Kette. B = ?
Station 3: Die urige Alm: Ob Paul damals hier Unterschlupf gefunden haben? Alt genug wäre diese Hütte auf jeden Fall. Wie heißt denn diese Alm? Aus wie vielen Buchstaben besteht der Name C = ?
Station 4: Der Flieger: WOW, jetzt bist du beeindruckt, richtig? Da liegt doch tatsächlich ein Teil des abgestürzten Fliegers. Kannst du den Namen des Fliegers lesen? Addiere die beiden Zahlen. D =
Station 5: Blick in die Ferne: Halte Ausschau und erkunde deine Umgebung. Den Durchblick und den Hinweis auf die nächste Zahl erhältst du bei dem Fernrohr. E =
Station 6: Das Versteck: Wenn Paul das Gefühl hatte, dass er in der Thaleralm nicht mehr sicher war, dann war er wohl hier irgendwo sicher. Suche nach dem Versteck und finde den Hinweis. F = ?
Station 7: Die zwei Damen: Die Aufregung geht weiter, denn hier hat eine Lawine schon mal ein großes Unglück verursacht. Halte Ausschau nach der Geschichte zu dem Unfall und notiere die Zahl des Tages, an dem hier was passiert ist. G =?

SILVER STAR is a multi-cache of medium difficulty. The 7 stages lead along a circuitous approx. 4 km long route and cover 270 m elevation leading past mysterious locations connected to an aircraft crash in 1944. Actual walking time is approx. 1,5 hours although more time should be allowed for solving the cache.
Parking the best place is a few metres on from the Jausenstation Oberthalerhof at the public parking area. SILVERSTAR covers the 7 stages and the goal and leads through Alpbachs‘ beautiful scenery. Valuable objects tell a story of what happened so many years ago
To find the treasure the target coordinate needs to be determined. Each stage provides a clue to solving the cache.
The history of the lost Silver Star: "What is a Silver Star?", some may ask. It is a military decoration for valour. Paul was awarded the Silver Star and he was mighty proud of the decoration. .
Towards the end of the Second World War Paul and nine fellow air men flew over the Tyrol with their military airplane. The plane crashed over Alpbach. Fortunately everybody survived and the entire crew were able to evacuate and use their parachutes. Each one of them landed in a different place. .
Paul thought to himself: "I’m in a foreign country. Will the people be kind to me?" He couldn’t know and so as not to be immediately recognised as an American he hid his uniform and his Silver Star in a secret hiding place. He drew himself a reference map so as to be able to find his things whenever he returned. Unfortunately he never made it back. Help fulfill his dearest wish and do your best to find his Silver Star. .
First stage: : The mysterious stone: Look very carefully and locate the large stone on the left. Has a number been engraved into the stone? A = _______________.
Second stage: : Open fire: It seems the air men have left important equipment behind. Find the small objects and make a note of the indication on the chain. B = _______________.
Third stage: : The original „Alm“: Could Paul have found refuge here? The hut is old enough. What is the hut called? How many letters spell its name C = _______________.
Fourth stage: : The plane: WOW, isn’t this impressive? This is a real part from the crashed plane. Can you read the planes registration? Add the two numbers. D = __________.
Fifth stage: : Glance in the distance: Take a good look and explore the surroundings. A clear view and the clue for the next number can be found in the telescope. E = _______________.
Sixth stage: : The hiding place: If Paul thought he was no longer safe in the Thaleralm, then maybe he found a safe place here. Look for the hiding place and find the clue. F = _______________.
Seventh stage: : The two ladies: There’s more commotion. Once a big avalanche caused a great calamity in this area. Look out for a story relating to the event and write down the day it took place. G = _______________.
