Geocache Description:

This is the Fifth in a short series of caches that outline the course of Hadrian's wall as it passes from Segedunum through Walker and Byker. Most of the wall has been removed in these locations and none of the original wall is visible. But a few sites have been excavated and the line of the wall has been highlighted in various locations.

This should bring you to a corner beside Byker Bridge. During the building of the new Ouseburn flats which can be seen below, roman remains were found. The approximate line of Hadrian's wall has been marked with stone slabs along the roof garden pointing off towards the centre of town. You need to BYOP and tweezers. You are protected by a crash barrier here but please take care, especially with children. Congratulations to Henry-Jones and Just-us-Two on your joint FTF
