Where the aprartments now sit was once the home of Kempton Brothers Wagon Works. The factory hanessed the flow of the brook to turn the wheel that ran the saws and other tools.
The original factory built wagons and skiis. The wagons were well renowned for their tracking, teh rear wheels rode in the tracks of the front wheels, a sign of quality manufacture.
When the days of horse and buggy were waning, the factory was converted to build prefabricated Churches. The churches were cut to fit in the factory, loaded on boats at the Liverpool waterfront and shipped to destinations along the Atlantic coast.
