Geocache Description:

Headwaters of Charo River is located in Shiranuka range of hills, and the length of the river is seventy-one kilometer. It is known as the river that shishamo smelts run up. "Charo" means the mouth of a river in Ainu language. Shiranuka bridge of R38 on Charo river is near the mouth of the river. There are Shiranuka elementary school and nursery school at the opposite side of the GZ. Please bring your pen.

白糠丘陵を源に流れる茶路川は71キロメートルの二級河川です。ししゃもが遡上する川としても知られています。茶路はアイヌ語で河口という意味です。国道38号線をなす白糠橋は茶路川の河口付近で、すぐ向こうは太平洋です。キャッシュを設置した場所の対岸には、白糠小学校や保育園、スポーツ施設があります。筆記具を持参ください。
