Beachie ❤ 1980s is a series of caches themed around the 1980s, located around Peterborough City Centre. The caches are intended to provide a variety of hides and types, so there'll be something for everyone.
Each cache is related to a different 1980s thing pertinent to a different year of the decade. We've tried to tie the themes in to the location where we can. In addition, there are some bonus caches. These aren't bonus caches in the geocaching sense of information to find one cache contained within other caches. They're just extra caches we added as we ended up with more ideas than years in the decade.
All the caches in the series are "stand-alone" in that they don't require you to complete any others. You can do them all in one sitting or just dip in and do one or two at a time as your time permits. You also don't need to do them in chronological or any other particular order - do them in whatever order works for you.

...and Max Headroom reaches our screens!

Max Headroom was a fictional character billed as “The World’s First Computer-Generated TV Host”. In actual fact, he was played by American actor Matt Frewer, wearing prosthetic make up and sat with a hand-drawn background.
The character's personality was partly intended as a satire of insincere and egotistical television personalities but also was "media-wise and gleefully disrespectful" which appealed to young viewers.
The character originally appeared in a TV movie, Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into The Future, before he was spun off into a veejay in the British music video program, The Max Headroom Show. Following that, the character appeared in a satirical sci-fi drama series, Max Headroom, which was broadcast in the USA for two series between 1987 and 1988.
Legend has it the name "Max Headroom" was named after an accident had by a fictional character in the TV series, where they crashed into a "Max Headroom" sign. We've brought you to such a sign - drive carefully!

Just how much headroom do you have? AB feet C inches.
There is a sign on the right. What is the bridge number? The three digits after the “/” are DEF. There’s a phone number on the sign. The last 6 digits are GHJKLM.
The cache can be located at:
N 52° F(E-B).(H+J)(C+D-F)A W 000° DM.L(B+F)(G+K)

The final cache is a couple of minutes' walk away.

Please make an educated decision about the level of muggle activity when you arrive at GZ, and if you find it's just too muggly, we'd suggest you return another time - we'd rather you protected the cache. Thank you.
