I really enjoy walking on the many trails here on the northern Oregon coast, especially in the spring. There are so many wild flowers in bloom. Some of the flowers I enjoy seeing are the tall yellow violet, the dwarf bramble (which sometimes can be half the normal height) and the cow parsnip (which can be almost seven feet tall!). But then again we must not forget the western portion either. I was astounded the other day upon seeing a single flowered Indian pipe plant! However I am always disappointed that one never sees bear grass in this area. But then there is always the one-sided wintergreen to make your day.
