The first Swimming Pool in Tamworth was constructed on this site in 1881, the same year a wooden bridge was erected across the Peel River, it has been replaced by the concrete one now standing.
The pool served the Tamwort community up to 1928. It contained concrete walls,a diving board and was 12 feet deep.
