It is one of a series we are putting together that will form a driving experience around Apokoronas and focus mainly on some of the traditional villages and sites in the area. The Lefka Ori or White Mountains rise to over 2400 meters and dominate this area of Crete. The mountains are snow capped for most of the winter months and provide much needed water via the many streams and rivers which keep this area so green, even during the summer months.
