Shin-Kushiro River is man-made river, that was completed in 1930. The waterway was for preventing the damage of the flood, that occurred frequently in Kushiro area. Please bring your pen.

新釧路川は１９３０年に誕生しました。というのも釧路川では洪水の被害が頻発し、その対策として新たな水路をつくることになったからです。その結果、広大な釧路湿原の自然の洪水調整機能を「横堤」が高め、釧路市街地は洪水から守られるようになりました。筆記具を持参ください。
